The next design iteration for the ring light involved creating a table mount for the light to rest in. This would help angle and elevate the light source improving its function as a desk light. The light could then be removed and hung on a wall. Ideally the base would be a charging station as well.

I enjoyed creating a base that integrates well with the light. I think the base physically elevates the light nicely, but I don’t like how it sits on a desk useless when the light is not connected to it. Also it might be possible to change the form of the light so that a mount is not necessary.

To that end I looked at a simple way that the ring form could be self-standing and also work as a wall light. The form looks like this:

I think I will change the bend so that the light is oriented vertically and closer in form to the mounted design.
